Have you ever wondered how you would respond if a person came into to your place of business threatening you or your customers with a  gun?  The 452nd District Attorney’s Office is hosting an educational presentation for the community to learn more about active shooter situations.  The presentation will be on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at the Eckert Civic Center, 111 McKinley Avenue in Mason, Texas.  The purpose of the presentation is to provide information to the public about what an individual can do to protect themselves and reduce dangers faced during an active shooter event.  The presentation covers a review of past active shooter events and describes specific life-saving measures that can be undertaken.  The material will help the public learn what challenges are facing law enforcement during an active threat.  Law enforcement in Mason has been trained on response to active threats.  The school practices what to do in the event of an active threat.  This presentation will provide the public with awareness and education.  Any member of the public can benefit from the information including business owners, public officials, school officials, parents, clergy, professional service providers and their customers.  James Fuller, Assistant Chief of Police for the City of Brownwood, will conduct the presentation.  The presentation will last approximately 1 hour to 1 ½ hours depending on questions from the public.  Please mark your calendars and attend this event to learn to protect yourself from an active threat.
